How Long Does It Take for a New Windshield to Dry?
Your vehicle needs to sit for a minimum of one hour before you drive it. This allows the adhesive to dry, providing a good, strong seal.
Avoid high pressure car washes for 48 hours, the pressure from the water hose can disrupt the adhesive and moldings.
High quality urethane takes only a few minutes to cure and dry, completely filling in the crack or chip. After drying, it seamlessly blends in with the rest of the windshield.
Unlike the few minutes it takes for your windshield to dry after filling in a crack, it takes quite longer for it dry after replacement. A windshield will take about three hours to completely cure and dry after replacement but to be on the safe side, we recommend not slamming the doors, enter car washes or removing the tape for 24-48 hours after getting your new car windshield.
